The purpose of this contract is for the contractor to collect relevant technical information to estimate actual emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOX) from natural gas fired small internal combustion compressor engines operating at gas producing facilities. For this contract the information are to be collected from gas producing facilities or gas wells which are located and operated in the area identified on the East of Texas Interstate Highway 35 (IH-35) for the year 2002. The technical data collected under the work order will be used by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to quantify accurately the NOx emissions and perform control strategy analyses on the compressor engine emissions associated with gas producing facilities in Texas. The estimation of emissions, associated with gas compressor engines, requires detail information of actual activity data and the engine population for a given county. Currently available compressor engine data does not meet the requirements needed to perform emissions estimation for compressors which are operating in all other gas producing wells in the state. The data to be collected in this work order is fundamental for the emission estimation and will be used to identify the distribution of compressor engines, their capacities, fuel type and usage, operating parameters, geographic and temporal allocation of the engines.
