Organization (Details)
Additional details can be found about the Board of Directors, Advisory Council, Houston Advanced Research Center (Research Management Organization), Science Advisory Committee, and the Research Team.

Executive Director
Mr. George Beatty serves as TERC's Executive Director. Prior to creating an environmental consulting firm in 2002, Mr. Beatty spent four years as President of the Greater Houston Partnership's Chamber of Commerce Division, where he focused on environmental issues that impacted the Houston-Galveston region. During that time, Mr. Beatty helped to found and co-chaired the Texas Clean Air Working Groupto address air quality issues in both the Houston-Galveston and Dallas-Fort Worth areas. Mr. Beatty has extensive experience in public policy and air quality issues.

Air Quality Research
TERC has been managing over $2 millions/year of Air Quality Research projects since 2002. The majority of projects are performed to address issues relating to the State Implementation Plan (SIP) such as emission monitoring, emission inventories, atmospheric chemistry, meteorology and complex computer modeling. More information can be found in the Air Quality Issues and Research sections of this web site.

New Technologies Research and Development
On September 1, 2005 TERC assumed management of NTRD. NTRD was originally managed by the Texas Center for Educational Technologies (TCET). Management was then turned over to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). To date over 71 different projects have been awarded largely for developing technologies that reduce NOx emissions from diesel engines.

NTRD Working Group
The NTRD Working Group is composed of industry and government stakeholders that meet to identify specific diesel engines that are abundant in the HGB and DFW non-attainment areas and could be good candidates for a TERP funding if the NTRD program were to develop and certify the appropriate technological solution.

Sub-contractors
The NTRD Sub-contractors are the entities who have provided a successful grant request. To date there have been 71 successful candidates under the NTRD program run first by the Texas Center for Educational Technologies (TCET) and more recently be the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
