Question
We are completing a project … to reduce PM and NOx from a diesel engine exhaust…(with) a prototype of our Diesel Particulate Trap (DPT) in low pressure EGR loop that was set to reduce NOx by 50%. DPT in this setting reduced engine PM by 27%. This was the first test done on an OEM diesel engine, and we are confident that with further refinement we can reduce PM at even higher levels. We would like to know if this project would qualify for your Program for funding.
Answer
Diesel Particulate Filters and EGR (unless part of the original engine design) are considered add-ons for which the current RFGA is not intended.
