Question
I had recently applied for RFGA 06. In the mean time RFGA 07 and RFGA 08 have been announced. It appears my project will fulfill the requirements for RFGA 07 and RFGA 08 as well. Since I do not know whether I would qualify for RFGA 06, can I re-apply for RFGA 07 and RFGA 08? In the event I am successful in obtaining RFGA 06 what happens to my application for RFGA 07 and RFGA 08? Also, if I were to apply for RFGA 07 and RFGA 08 for additional projects, would it be possible to obtain additional grants?
Answer
Each RFGA is independent of the others. If you have a product or technology that you believe meets the requirements of a particular RFGA, you can apply for funding under that RFGA without regard to other applications that are currently under review for previous RFGAs.
Question
Can you tell me approximately how many Tow Boats there are in the Texas Waterways, what are their sizes?
Do you have any engine data (mfg, size, model, flow, exhaust temperature, duty cycle) of any of these?
Do you know how much available space there is for a SCR system on a typical tow boat?
Answer
The RFGA document (page 1, paragraph 2) "A recent study identified over 500 tug and tow boats operating in the Texas waterways".
For engine output and duty cycle data, please refer to (page 26 and on): www.nescaum.org/topics/clean-ports/ports-workshop-documents/preparing-port-emission-inventories-final-1-5-06.pdf.
Please be aware all proposals and applicants will in part be rated on their capabilities in, and understanding of, the target market.
