University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) as one of the lead institutions within SOS is proposing to undertake several modeling tasks in support of Texas Air Quality Study II (TexAQS-II). The major tasks are: 1) the continuation of GOES data assimilation in MM5 and CMAQ to improve the prediction of boundary layer characteristics and air quality simulations, 2) to create a web-based operational Lagrangian particle model to be available for TexAQS II planning briefings and also for use by the scientists during the study period, 3) participation in planning, operations and support of TexAQS II field campaigns, and 4) Large Eddy Simulation with Chemistry for characterization of industrial plumes during the study.
